SCESCM is an international conference focusing on sustainability concept implemented in design, construction and maintenance in any civil engineering structure. The conference is organized every two years since 2012 and is increasingly enriched by outstanding keynotes, invited papers and selected participant’s papers sharing the latest scientific findings and achievements among civil engineers across the globe.

The central theme of the conference is ‘Archipelago Tourism’ which would also be the tag line for the conference series. The specific theme for 2016 INTACT is ‘Marine Tourism’. This conference is aimed to discuss issues, paradigms, theories, concepts, polices and practical experiences on Marine Tourism in Archipelagic hemisphere.
In archipelago tourism, problem and difficulties may occur in social or natural issues, in developing destinations, managing destinations, or may be remote from either. The consequences may be either mild or relatively short term or have long term impacts on existing or future tourism industry systems. These would be seriously challenged to secure and maintain tourism development properly and it clearly does matter in terms of island visitation and awareness levels of archipelago areas. Thus it raises important issues to study. The data and empirical analyses about archipelago tourism remain limited; it needs to be empirically understood. It is, therefore, one need to have a forum to share the knowledge and expertise to welcome the new discussion. The forum that is proposed to deal with the issues is International Academic Conference on Tourism (INTACT 2016). About the 1st International Conference On Southeast Asia Studies
Today in Southeast Asia, with the decrease of absolute poverty, the question that the region faces is whether a truly plural, equal and democratic society could emerge from the region. Problems arising from increasing fundamentalist beliefs, geopolitical changes resulting from a rising China, climate change and the fragility of the agricultural system, the faltering of democracy in many countries in the region and the increasing gap between the haves and have-nots point to the worrying potential for failing to produce a healthy, equal and multicultural society. These stem from various problems that have yet to be addressed in a measured and deep manner. ICSEAS intends to bring these challenges and the problems it poses to an open forum in a manner in which researchers could exchange their ideas freely in order to fundamentally help put the challenge of the twentieth century for the region in a clear perspective. To create a common and good society based on the ideals of democracy, welfare, equality, pluralism and a respect of the environment requires a deep understanding of the interrelatedness of such an endeavor. Perhaps the major challenge is in convincing such a project to the people of ASEAN. read more

Ironisnya, minat dan kajian akademisi terhadap dinamika Asia Tenggara justru lebih berkembang di luar daripada di dalam kawasan. Selain itu, kontribusi Indonesia sebagai negara yang memiliki peran dan posisi penting dalam dinamika kawasan terhadap kajian dan minat akademik terhadap Asia Tenggara, juga tidak berkembang secara signifikan.
